Coalition Hires Campaign Director
Come, meet and welcome our new Director, Judy Einach.
For the first time in the 32-year history of the Coalition on West Valley Nuclear Wastes, we have a paid staff person. With big help from the CEC (CitizenŐ Environmental Coalition), NIRS (Nuclear Information and Resource Service), CHEJ (Center for Health Environment and Justice), the coalition has obtained grants from the Public Welfare Foundation and the Hahn Foundation to fund a campaign director.
Judy Einach is well known as an Independent Candidate for Mayor of the City of Buffalo in 2005 where she secured the nomination of the Green Party and garnered 5% of the vote. Her varied and extensive past experience includes work as Director of Program Development for the Boys & Girls Club of Buffalo, a Community Builder with United Neighborhoods, Associate Director of Voice of the Arab World, Board Member of Citizen Action and Executive and Artistic Director of Just Around the Corner, a touring theater company dedicated to socially relevant theater for young people. From 2002-2004, as a project manager for the Massachusetts Avenue Project, she managed a US DHHS JOLI grant supporting micro enterprise development, primarily in the food sector, with the secondary goal of generating community economic development. She was Local Ethnography Consultant for YO! Buffalo and currently is a member of the executive development team of Comestibles, a for-profit linking of NY regional growers and food producers with consumers in underserved regional markets. Judy produces The Einach Report heard on WHLD AM1270.
